The First Superman Minifigure (2011)

The 1st Lego Superman minifigure came out in 2011 at New York Comic Con, its already a pretty complete looking minifiure with the blue body and red groin piece. Its got the classic older Superman’s detail for a simple belt and some outlines that show his muscle, even though he has a red cape on there is some printing for muscle outlines on the back.

Because this first minifigure came out in 2011 so there are no yellow-skinned version of Superman minifigure. And then strangely he was also released again in 2015 also as a comic config in San Diego. It comes with two expressions. one is a pretty stern looking face with some distinct cheekbones. and the other one has kind of a cocky smirk neither of these faces actually look that friendly.

Bizarro Superman Minifigure (2012)

2012 Bizarro Superman minifigure came out as an exclusive minifigure for the San Diego Comic Con. there is only about a thousand, so its a pretty rare minifigure. It has a much less friendly face, the detailing for the body of the Superman is nearly the same. Its got some gnarly looking teeth and a lot of wrinkles.

If you look closely you can see the S is backwards. It also has the bizarro number one sign slash necklace, that is a reference back to very early bizarro from the comics. All there see on the original Superman is now replaced with purple. You can see his flesh is white and the detailing for his faces are pretty grotesque. Neither face looks very happy like that his hairpiece is a bit matted down as well. It is a very cool minifigure.

Black Suit Superman Minifigure (2013)

Black suit super man minifigure is one of the most rare and exclusive Lego Minifigures ever made. Black suit Superman was released July 20th 2013 at the San Diego ComicCon. It was a promotional giveaway and only 200 people won this raffle. That is mean there are only 200 of these black suit Supermans in existence, it goes for quite a lot of money every now.

It got Superman hairpiece with a little curl in the front. It also comes with two expressions, one is a very serious determined face and the other one has glowing red eyes like he’s using his laser vision. what is unique is this color combo, its all black with the flesh colored hands, the silver detailing shows Superman sign.If you look closely at the top of the Torso there’s a tiny bit of tan Printing and I think this is to show that the suit is ever so slightly low cut.

Superman: Man of Steel Minifigure (2013)

Superman Man of Steel in his dark blue suit , you can see that the detail is the same as the black suit version but just the color changes. The coloration is pretty good I especially like the gold background to the ‘S’. This Superman also has an alternate face that we haven’t seen and it got the big red eyes, its the laser vision face.

Jor-El Minifigure (2013)

Jor-El Minifigure is not actually superman he is Superman’s father. you will also notice that the detail is once again nearly identical. Jor-El’s beard is multicolored, It also has the same hair piece as bizarro superman minifigure but only this time it’s brown, it has a brown cape. when you compare father and son side-by-side you can see that the ‘S’ is definitely darker looks a bit faded.

Clark Kent Superman Minifigure (2013)

Clark Kent Superman minifigure was released in 2013. The detail here shows the transition of Clark Kent turning into Superman. The Clark Kent face is the same as a regular Superman printing except out its just wearing glasses. it almost seems that having a proper comb-over hairpiece is a bigger disguise than his glasses.

Superboy Minifigure (2014)

Let’s move on to the year 2014, we got one Superman or actually know Superman’s but one Superboy. Its a pretty high quality minifigure, got the dual molded arms, wearing a t-shirt. It’s funny the detail here shows an eight-pack to outdo Superman six-pack.

The unique that they printed on the detail for the jeans, Lego just sticks with a regular dark blue mold. The face is that it’s nearly the same print as Superman only the mouth is slightly changed here and he has a less defined cheekbone line the same goes for his laser vision face.

Two replicas of the original Superman (2015)

2015 we get two superman minifigures, we are now in the realm of soft cloth capes and these are a much bigger improvement to the old ones.

The one is the exact replica of the original Superman from 2011. The only difference is the one I just mentioned before the soft cloth cape but everything else is exactly the same even the two facial expressions. The other one is identical to the last one except the only different with him is his alternate expression instead of this confident grin he has this angry laser vision face like before.

Supergirl Minifigure (2015)

Supergirl minifigure printing here is pretty good like usual with the female superheroes. There are some printed on back to show the hips, but what isn’t so common is the printing on the front and sides of the legs to show the pleated skirt and boots. She has a blonde hair piece with some of it going over one shoulder. And two expressions, one is a small smile with a slightly raised eyebrow and the other one is laser vision face.

Two Superman minifigures based on Batman v Superman (2016)

2016 we got 2 superman minifigure, both of these minifigures are based on the new Batman vs Superman movie. You can see its back to a dark blue suit like from 2013, this is to stay consistent with the Man of Steel.We have this new expression which looks like an almost goofy kind of smile. It also has this different hairpiece it’s not the classic Superman curl anymore.

The detail for Superman’s muscles has not yet changed but you can see that they have changed up the look of the suit. Its got ight blue highlighting now that goes around the symbol on his chest and makes up a little bit of design around the sides. It also has a little bit more gold detailing the back also has a bit more light blue and gold detail. The other one what the one difference is here he has these dual molded legs to show red boots. He’s the first Superman with dual molding, it definitely evens out the fact that there’s no printing on the legs he looks a lot more complete.
