The UH-60 Black Hawk is a four-rotor twin-engine general-purpose helicopter developed by Sikorsky for the US Army. It first flew in 1974 and was officially put into service in 1979. It can carry 11 fully armed soldiers, or carry about 1,200 kg of internal cargo, or hang about 4,050 kg of external cargo. The maximum cruising speed is about 280 kilometers per hour, and the maximum range can reach 2,220 kilometers (with auxiliary fuel tanks).
- MH-60 series: MH-60L, MH-60K and other special operations models, equipped with advanced avionics equipment, weapon systems and aerial refueling capabilities, can perform special forces missions.
Since its service, the Black Hawk helicopter has been widely involved in various military operations of the United States and its allies, including combat and humanitarian missions in Grenada, Panama, Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan. Its versatility and reliability make it one of the main helicopters of the world’s armies.
LEGO has not officially released a set based on the UH-60 Black Hawk. However, some enthusiasts and custom builders in the LEGO community have designed and built unofficial Black Hawk helicopter models. For example, Brickmania® released a custom MH-60L “Black Hawk” model that pays homage to the movie Black Hawk Down.
